Work Already Done Should Not Be Done Again
A student who has completed relevant study at another institution should not be required to repeat it. The University assesses prior study on its substance rather than on where it was undertaken, and credits what is genuinely equivalent.
Transcripts are evaluated as part of the ordinary application. Qualifications from outside the United States are converted to the United States credit hour system before assessment. An evaluation is normally returned within two weeks.
Professional experience may also be taken into account at the initial assessment, though it is credited against the starting point of study rather than awarded as formal credit.

Completed Degrees
Bachelor's and associate degrees from recognized institutions, assessed module by module against our own.
Diplomas and Certificates
Post-secondary diplomas and professional certificates, where content and level are equivalent.
Partial Study
Modules completed toward a qualification that was not finished. Incomplete study is not disregarded.
International Qualifications
Converted from the originating credit system before assessment, with no additional fee for the conversion.
Transferring Credit Away From Saint Mary's
Credit earned at Saint Mary's may not be accepted by other institutions. Acceptance is at the discretion of the receiving institution.
Applicants who may wish to continue their studies elsewhere should establish, in writing and before enrolling here, whether the institution they have in mind will accept credit from Saint Mary's.
